Big Apple Circus

How Low Cost Guerrilla Marketing created High Profile Local Buzz.

title

Background:
The Big Apple Circus agreed to perform in Stamford, CT as part of a local fundraising effort to renovate a major downtown park.

Challenge:
With very limited marketing dollars create awareness and ticket sales.

Solution:
Got a volume discount on 5,000 clown noses packaged with a circus promo card ($5 off ticket price) which could be purchased off a circus web page. The nose packages were distributed to the public by street teams and also distributed to local schools. A press conference (including the mayor and others wearing the noses) with coverage from the local print and broadcast media, kicked off the promotion. Pics and video from the event were then posted online on Facebook and YouTube for extended Social and Viral media purposes.
